Archaeology Alive in The Dalles

Ken Karsmizki, a renowned Lewis & Clark archaeologist, is now the assistant director of the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center and Museum in The Dalles. Ken’s work was featured on a Discovery Channel program that aired in June 2002. Ken is unique in that he has access to NASA satellite imagery to conduct his work to find physical evidence of the Corps of Discovery. Close to home, Ken is looking at the Rock Fort site in The Dalles along the Columbia River, and has previously conducted digs at Fort Clatsop near Astoria.
